Kathie’s background includes six months in the aerospace and defense industry. She spent the summer after her freshman year with General Electric’s Aviation business in Cincinnati, OH as an operations management intern. During her time there, she optimized the layout and organizational process of a $2B military storage area to reduce 36% of steps, touches, and time, thus improving throughput. She also collaborated with engineers, architects, and the fire department to redesign a shipping dock and supported a 12-person management team in the manufacturing shop and union environment by tracking $87M of sales. This past summer, she interned at Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN as a purchasing intern. Having the opportunity to work with buyers, she forecasted new standard pricings for the upcoming year, support long-term agreement negotiations to reduce 25% of delivery disruptions, and developed source change process RACI/value stream maps for employee training.
On campus she is also a brother of the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi and a member of the consulting program, Consulting Academy.
